Apa Nova Bucuresti
Meeting at the Apa Nova Headquarters
On Monday, March 11th, we had a meeting with Claudia Andrei, the Marketing Manager of Apa Nova, and Roxana Manoliu, Public Relation Assistant at Apa Nova. Raluca Gorun also attended the meeting as a moderator and interpreter.
The meeting took place at the Apa Nova Bucuresti Headquarters, Strada Aristide Demetriade, n° 2, Sector 1, Bucharest (not very far from our school).
During this meeting, the two section-managers answered the questions of 7 pupils from our class: Luca, Theodor, Petru, Renée, Maria, Victor, Zhangirkhan and our English Teacher, Mrs. Dufaux. The meeting took place one of the Apa Nova conference rooms, which is on the first floor of the Apa Nova Headquarters. We were all sitting around a big table.
We got all the answers we wanted about the Marketing Department and also about the Apa Nova company and innovations.
During that meeting, we learned that the Apa Nova company is involved in numerous social and environmental projects.
Here are a few examples:
- The Recicloniada Project: “Bucharest is yours to create!”
The translation in English of Recicloniada would be Recyclathlon. This project is part of the “Capital Grows Green” programme and the “You make Bucharest”
Description: This innovative project was launched in 2010. Since 2010, during one day, Apa Nova Bucharest has invited the inhabitants of Bucharest to an Ample Recycling Campaign within the "Capital Grows Green” programme and the “You Make Bucharest” campaign, the Bucharest Town Hall and Apa Nova Bucharest has offered the inhabitants of Bucharest an entire day for collection and recycling and a concert held by Sistem. Associations and specialized NGOs made available containers available for the collection of all types of recyclable waste and information to this effect.
Its aim: Since 2010, during one summer day, Apa Nova Bucharest has invited the inhabitants of Bucharest to an Ample Recycling Campaign.

. Apa Nova is also involved in two closely related projects, together with their partners in the "Viitor Plus" Association:
- The first one is "Recycle for Trees" – it is a program that aims at "transforming" recycled waste into trees. This is possible by donating funds obtained from the capitalization of recyclable waste to Viitor Plus Association, which are invested for the growth of trees through the "Adopt a tree!" project.
- The second project is Adopt a tree!:
• It aims at the afforestation of degraded lands in Romania.
• It is 100% made through private funds from companies and individuals.
• The forest is planted, taken care of for 5-6 years (depending on the species planted) and monitored yet another 10 years.
• Afforestation works are made based on a technical project done by forestry experts.
• It promotes biodiversity conservation (by planting of mixed species forests) and development of local communities.
• It proposes direct action on climate change by offsetting CO2.
. The coming of spring (March 23rd, 2012): This project was called “Apa Nova va vesteste: primavara-n poveste!” which means Apa Nova Bucharest welcomes the coming of spring through popular customs.”
On Bucharest, March 23rd, 2012, Apa Nova Bucharest welcomed the coming of spring through popular customs.
On the Feast of the Annunciation, Apa Nova Bucharest invited the people of Bucharest in the Old Centre, to a fair of customs and traditions, organized with the Village Museum. The people of Bucharest were invited between 3 pm and 8 pm on the Lipscani Street, behind the Romanian National Bank, to celebrate the coming of spring.

Here are a few projects that took place at the beginning of this year :
. Water Day (March 23rd, 2013): the students from the Hydrotechnical University of Bucharest, in partnership with Apa Nova, with the National Administration “Apele Romane”, with the Romanian Association of Water, with Radio Bucuresti and with the support of the Bucharest City Hall, are celebrating each year the International Water Day. This event is dedicated to the general public, but more specific to young people, in order to inform and educate on water issues. Each year the event take place in Herastrau Park; here there are some activities dedicated to the Water Day: drawing contests and quizzes, games on the water cycle.
We all enjoyed the visit as we got a lot of important information, information which was required for our school project. We also enjoyed a lot the fact that we were so nicely welcomed by the two managers who were really friendly and really willing to help us. We even got many nice Apa Nova presents before leaving (a USB stick, a notebook and a key ring). So, we just had a great time!

"We are thrilled about the project initiated by the Anna de Noailles French High School and coordinated by Mrs. Nathalie Dufaux as teacher. It is very important that children learn from a very early age about the importance of water in our lives. We were pleasantly surprised by children’s involvement, attention and dedication. Our meetings were interactive and highly entertaining. During this project’s development, we tried to provide the children with all necessary information and also to draw attention to the need to protect water and the environment."
Roxana Manoliu, Public Relation Assistant at Apa Nova Bucharest
"Our meeting was very pleasant with children relaxing the atmosphere with their presence. It was a nice surprise to find that their interest towards our services is very high.I enjoyed answering their smart questions, it was obvious that they came well prepared.I commend the initiative and perseverance with the project progresses. The article prepared after the meeting was complete and well structured.
Also congratulations to their teacher, Nathalie Dufaux, for encouraging, and shaping the kids, future adults, to develop both imagination and knowledge about the community in which they live."

On February 14th, Apa Nova was present at Piata Universitatii, we had a stand. Students had to answer questions linked to water, water use and also about love and water ... The winner of the contest won a very elegant wedding outfit for a couple (if the winners had planned to get married in the following year and a very elegant evening outfit if the couple hadn’t planned to get married soon).
The couple who won the contest this year had actually planned to get married next summer so, they won a wedding outfit.
